My Neighborhood
When I was in third grade I lived in Chinatown which is located at
downtown Manhattan.
What I always loved about living in the city is all the people and
stores. There are all kinds of stores around my neighborhood and
whenever you need something, you can get it right around the corner. The
block I lived on was surrounded by residential buildings, but after that
there are stores everywhere.
Two block from my house is P.S. 2, the elementary school that I
went to until sixth grade. The school is three stories high and has a
yard in the back which is the same size as the school. The street behind
the school is call East Broadway and it's one of the busiest streets in
Chinatown. There are restaurants, grocery stores, poultry stores, music
center, a mall, libraries and all kinds of other stores. On the streets,
because it is Chinatown after all, ninety percent of the people you see
are Chinese and most of the stores are own or run by Chinese.
There is on park on each side of my building and I used to play
there almost everyday. In the park there is a playground, basket ball
court, handball court, and seats fro those who want to rest. When I was
small I used to rided my little bike around the park all the time with my
friends.
I've always liked that neighborhood because the school was very
close, a park nearby to play in and most of all there are stores of all
kinds I can go shopping in.
